SpaceX has transferred 1,308 Bitcoin worth approximately $153 million to a new wallet, marking its first known on-chain activity since 2022.
SpaceX BTC Transfer
SpaceX moved 1,308 BTC, equivalent to around $153 million, to a new wallet address earlier this week. This marks the company's first recorded outbound Bitcoin transaction since June 2022. Data from Arkham Intelligence shows that the sending wallet is associated with Elon Musk's aerospace company, and the receiving wallet had no previous activity.
Previous Movement of Funds
The last recorded movement from SpaceX's wallet took place on June 10, 2022, when the company transferred 3,505 BTC worth about $102 million to a Coinbase address. Since then, there have been no outward transactions from any wallets tagged to SpaceX.
Major Corporate Bitcoin Holders
Currently, SpaceX holds 6,977 BTC, with a market value of around $815 million, positioning it among the largest corporate Bitcoin holders globally. Along with Tesla, which is also actively involved in the Bitcoin market, SpaceX's situation demonstrates the ongoing interest in digital assets as a significant part of corporate balance sheets.
The transfer by SpaceX raises questions about its purpose and motives, but the significant amount and the length of inactivity highlight the interest of large corporations in Bitcoin and digital assets.
