The Web3 intellectual property protocol Story has announced the launch of its mainnet on February 13. The primary aim of the project is to provide creators and rights holders with the tools to protect and monetize their digital property.
Launch of Mainnet and IP Token
On February 13, the Story protocol officially launches its mainnet, introducing its native IP token. This token will be used for transactions, governance voting, and compensating content creators. The initial staking period is termed 'Singularity.' A total of 1 billion IP tokens will be issued, and rewards will begin distribution on March 2.
Opportunities for Content Creators
Story enables creators to register their work on the blockchain, set up automatic licensing and revenue sharing, receive payments directly without intermediaries, and protect their works from unauthorized use. Major cryptocurrency exchanges, including Bitget, Bithumb, Bybit, KuCoin, Coinbase, and OKX, have announced IP token listing support.
Story's Role in Web3 Development
According to Story founder Jason Zhao, the protocol offers an open market system for IP management in the era of AI. Story is backed by leading venture firms such as Andreessen Horowitz, Polychain Capital, Hashed, and Samsung Next. The protocol partners with over 50 applications, including the digital art collaboration service Magma, to offer collaborative creation opportunities.
With the launch of its mainnet, Story takes a significant step in advancing decentralized IP management, making Web3 a more accessible and secure environment for content creators.
