Strategy, formerly known as MicroStrategy, continues to expand its Bitcoin assets. The recent acquisition of 20,356 BTC for $1.99 billion underscores the company’s aggressive accumulation strategy.

Current Bitcoin Accumulation Strategy

Strategy began acquiring Bitcoin in August 2020, adopting an aggressive approach. Notable acquisitions include 218,887 BTC for $20.5 billion in Q4 2024. Overall, the company holds 499,096 BTC, accounting for 2.3% of Bitcoin’s total supply cap.

21/21 Plan and Future Acquisitions

The 21/21 Plan aims to raise $42 billion over three years to further purchase Bitcoin. $20 billion has already been secured via convertible notes. Despite $670 million in losses in Q4 2024, the company remains committed to its strategy.

Michael Saylor and the U.S. Bitcoin Reserve Plan

Strategy co-founder Michael Saylor advocates for a U.S. Bitcoin Reserve, proposing the purchase of 20% of Bitcoin's total supply. Talks with various governmental bodies are ongoing, and Saylor recently met with El Salvador's President Nayib Bukele to discuss Bitcoin adoption.

Strategy's Bitcoin accumulation strategy is a long-term play, despite financial hurdles. The company remains focused on future opportunities in digital assets.
