Supra's Moonshot Consensus Mechanism and Innovations

The blockchain platform Supra is poised to introduce its groundbreaking Moonshot consensus mechanism at the upcoming DSN 2024 Conference. This cutting-edge mechanism delivers oracle data feeds and verifiable randomness to a vast network of more than 80 blockchains, heralding a new era in blockchain technology.

A recent press release from crypto.news has revealed that Supra's team will unveil the Moonshot whitepaper, elucidating the mechanism's functionality and highlighting its transformative impact on the blockchain sector. The whitepaper will draw comparisons between Moonshot and Jolteon, a prominent decentralized consensus algorithm renowned for its superior performance.

In a notable development, Microsoft's IVy Verifier officially sanctioned Moonshot in November 2023, attesting to its reliability. The mechanism's sophisticated algorithms are engineered to deter network forking, ensuring operational stability by neutralizing malicious validators.

Supra has gained recognition in the blockchain industry through its innovative Distributed Oracle Agreement (DORA), which integrates real-world data into blockchain architectures. By addressing Byzantine faults and safeguarding data integrity, particularly crucial for smart contracts within Web3 ecosystems, Supra strives to elevate blockchain functionalities.

A cornerstone of Supra's initiatives lies in Byzantine fault tolerance, a pivotal metric that underpins network resilience.

The Moonshot mechanism has achieved remarkable processing capabilities, supporting 530,000 transactions per second across 125 globally dispersed nodes. It boasts rapid transaction finality, with an optimistic finality of 500 milliseconds and full block finality in a mere 1.5 to 2 seconds, outperforming conventional consensus mechanisms.

Scheduled at the University of Queensland in Brisbane, Australia, from June 24 to 27, the DSN 2024 conference will provide a platform for the unveiling of Moonshot.

Overview of Supra

Supra stands out as an integrative blockchain solution, encompassing oracles, bridges, automation, and randomness within a robust Layer-1 structure compatible with MultiVM environments. This foundational framework empowers developers to construct decentralized applications (dApps) while supporting multiple virtual machines, ensuring adaptability and scalability.

Equipped with tools for advanced dApp creation and offerings like oracle price feeds and verifiable randomness services, Supra enhances the security of diverse blockchains. In a stride towards innovation, Supra introduces the DAG-based Sailfish protocol to enhance latency performance. Coupled with the Moonshot consensus mechanism, it promises to usher in noteworthy performance enhancements in the blockchain landscape.
