Surge, focused on enhancing the Bitcoin network, has received $1.8 million in pre-seed funding to develop its MetaLayer technology.

Funding and Support

Surge's initial funding round garnered support from several venture capital firms, including Autonomy, Gerstenbrot Capital, Double Peak Group, Sats Ventures, Vamient Capital, and Samara AG. Notable angel investors include Coingecko’s co-founders Bobby Ong and TM Lee, Christian Sullivan from Gunzilla Games, and others.

MetaLayer Technological Solution

Surge's MetaLayer is designed to overcome Bitcoin's limitations in scalability and functionality by using advanced cryptographic techniques like Zero-Knowledge Proofs and inter-blockchain communication. This solution supports Bitcoin's security without requiring soft or hard forks.
