Circumstances of the tragedy
According to the Amalgamated Union of App-based Transporters of Nigeria (AUATON), the tragic incident occurred on the evening of February 7, 2025. Driver Yusfat Olawale responded to a ride request near Fela Shrine in Ikeja. Upon arrival, he was ambushed by a group of young men, including the alleged rider. The assailants fatally stabbed Yusfat and stole his vehicle.
