Blockchain analyst ZachXBT has detected a significant crypto theft involving approximately $2 million worth of ANDY meme coins. The perpetrator managed to exchange half of the stolen assets for Ethereum (ETH) and transferred them to new wallets. The incident involved the draining of a victim's wallet through three swift transactions in less than a minute. ZachXBT, known for his investigative prowess, shared a detailed breakdown of the theft. According to his findings, the hacker acquired 4.2 billion ANDY, valued at around $1 million. The stolen funds were consolidated into a single wallet and then dispersed among five new addresses in a series of transactions lasting less than 30 minutes. Notable secondary transfers included 8.38 ETH sent to a new wallet and a portion of the stolen meme coins being redirected. ZachXBT's investigation coincided with a rise in interest in meme coins, driven by speculative activities in the crypto market. Meme coins are often seen as a lucrative opportunity for quick gains, given their history of sudden price surges.
