The implementation of blockchain technologies has become a pressing issue in the USA, with several bills being proposed for various sectors, including elections and education.

Using Blockchain for Election Protection

A lawmaker suggested that properties of distributed ledgers, such as tamper resistance and verifiability, could prevent election fraud and restore trust in the system. The State Board of Elections, in conjunction with the Office of Information Technology Services, will evaluate the possibility of protecting voters' identities and ensuring election result accuracy using blockchain. The bill is currently under consideration by a specialized committee of the Assembly, and if passed, authorized entities will have a year to conduct studies.

Blockchain Education for Children

A resolution calling for K-12 students in Georgia to be educated about blockchain, cryptocurrency, and Web3 has been introduced in the state’s House of Representatives. Democratic officials believe the growing popularity of Bitcoin necessitates that students are informed about modern financial technologies. The resolution states that running an awareness campaign among school children regarding such technologies’ potential will facilitate their effective use in the future.

Protection of Cryptocurrency Owners' Rights in California

The state of California has revised a bill concerning money transfers to guarantee protection for cryptocurrency owners' rights. The new 'Digital Assets' bill includes provisions for self-custodial storage and the legalization of cryptocurrencies as a form of payment. If passed, nearly 40 million residents will have the right to use digital assets for private transactions, along with measures prohibiting discrimination against cryptocurrencies by government agencies.

Therefore, the application of blockchain in electoral processes, educational initiatives, and the protection of cryptocurrency owners' rights demonstrates a growing interest in these technologies in the USA.
