Several US states are discussing bills concerning the creation of a strategic bitcoin reserve, with Utah and Arizona leading the charge.

Stages of Bill Approval

Utah is one step ahead as its Committee on Revenue and Taxation approved the document, which now awaits second and third readings. In 18 states, similar initiatives await voting. Arizona and Utah are already in final stages of approval.

Texas Initiatives

On February 27, the Texas Senate Banking Committee approved the SBR bill. The document authorizes the Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts to purchase, sell, and exchange any assets. The revised bill proposes the possibility of buying bitcoin in January 2025, including other digital assets from February.

Safety and Prospects of the US Crypto Reserve

The prospects for the creation of a US bitcoin reserve remain unclear. Many expected President Donald Trump to make initial steps towards this. However, as Jim Bianco pointed out, 'evaluating' the issue suggests no intention to tackle the problem.

Despite developing initiatives in individual states, the prospects for creating a national bitcoin reserve remain vague, with experts divided in their forecasts.
