The FBI has announced the opportunity for victims of the AML Bitcoin fraud, linked to Rowland Marcus Andrade, to file claims for restitution.

What is the AML Bitcoin Scam?

From 2014 to 2019, Rowland Marcus Andrade claimed to offer AML Bitcoin, allegedly a more secure version of Bitcoin that was promoted as having built-in technologies against money laundering and theft. He raised millions from investors, promising advanced technology that was either exaggerated or nonexistent. Andrade was convicted of fraud and money laundering.

Procedure for Claims Submission

Victims are asked to fill out a brief form provided by the FBI, including details about their investments and supporting documents like receipts or bank records. Claims must be submitted by June 5, 2025, to be considered for possible restitution. The FBI offers full confidentiality for all respondents.

Current Status of AML Bitcoin

As of May 12, 2025, AML Bitcoin (ABTC) is priced at $0.47, with a market cap of $456,538. The token currently has a circulating supply of zero, indicating a loss of investor interest following Andrade's conviction. Analysts express skepticism regarding future price predictions for this asset.

The AML Bitcoin case highlights the importance of investor protection in the cryptocurrency space and the need for strict measures against fraud. Victims are encouraged to file claims to enhance their chances of restitution and aid in the fight against fraud.
