The volume of cryptocurrency transactions between Russia and other countries in 2025 may reach 1 trillion rubles. This statement comes from a senior official.
Assessment of Cryptocurrency Transaction Volumes
According to Anatoly Aksakov, head of the Financial Markets Committee of the State Duma, cryptocurrency settlements may reach 1 trillion rubles. He stated in an interview with TASS: 'I admit, this is already about 1 trillion rubles.'
Use of Cryptocurrencies for External Settlements
Aksakov emphasized that decentralized digital currencies, such as Bitcoin, should be used exclusively for international payments. He also noted the recent legalization of cryptocurrency for payments with foreign partners.
Challenges in Legalizing Cryptocurrencies Domestically
Despite plans to use cryptocurrencies for external payments, Russia is not yet ready to legalize the free circulation of cryptocurrencies domestically. The Central Bank and the Finance Ministry are against legalization.
Russia continues developing opportunities for cryptocurrency use in international trade, but internal regulation remains strict and restrictive.
