Binance has launched a 'Vote to Delist' feature enabling users to participate in decision-making about token futures.
Binance's New Feature
Starting March 21, 2025, Binance has introduced a 'Vote to Delist' feature. This initiative allows users to participate in the selection of tokens to be removed. Tokens in the 'Monitoring Zone' are marked because of poor liquidity or inactivity.
Voting Process Explained
To participate in the voting, users must have a verified Binance account and maintain a minimum of 0.01 BNB. The voting is open until March 27, 2025. Each verified user can vote for up to five projects in the delisting pool, and votes must be submitted under the official post on Binance Square Official.
Market Impact and Reactions
The introduction of the delisting feature coincided with Binance's announcement of delisting five cryptocurrencies: Aergo, AirSwap, BurgerCities, COMBO, and Linear Finance. After the announcement, the token BURGER dropped by 48.1% within two hours, while others also faced substantial declines. This development occurs amidst a broader market downturn.
The 'Vote to Delist' feature gives the Binance community a say in token lifespan, although the final decision will be based on other factors reviewed by the exchange team.
