Today, January 20, a vote on the NEIRO IP proposal in the Own The Doge DAO will take place. This community of collective Doge image and IP owners via DOG tokens is considering two offers from the Neiro communities.
DAO Discussion and NEIRO IP Proposal
On January 15, Own The Doge announced on the X platform that the most active DAO discussion about NEIRO IP was summarized in a proposal. Two options were received from the Neiro communities: NEIRO and NEIROWOOF. The primary goal is to grant Atsuko control of her brand, preventing misuse of the cultural phenomenon she created with the Neiro image, a Shiba Inu adopted by Atsuko Sato. The DAO team aims to reach an agreement with the existing Neiro communities to avoid potential legal conflicts.
Voting Options
There are two proposals to choose from. The first is from NeiroWoof, a token created on the Solana blockchain offering 7% of its supply for charity and full community support. The second is from NeiroCTO on the Ethereum blockchain, with offers to purchase and lock part of their token supply, share commercial revenue, and provide marketing support.
Additional Details
The winner of the vote will receive an exclusive license to use the NEIRO IP until February 1, 2027, after which terms will be renegotiated. The NeiroCTO token offers financial commitments related to DOG token purchases and revenue sharing from commercial activities. The snapshot vote will be conducted today, with Solana DOG tokens being incompatible for this vote.
The voting results will determine which community receives the exclusive license to utilize the NEIRO IP. This will be an important step in managing the cultural brand of Neiro.
