Through collaborative efforts, WEMADE and ADRA Korea have raised funds to provide financial support to firefighters affected while combating wildfires.
Total Donation Amount
WEMADE, led by CEO Kwan-ho Park, and the Adventist Development and Relief Agency Korea (ADRA Korea, Secretary-General Ik Hyun Kim) jointly donated approximately 30 million won. These funds were raised through an emergency fundraising campaign launched in April on the Wepublic platform.
Purpose of Funds
The donations are fully dedicated to covering the medical expenses of firefighters who participated in the firefighting efforts in the Yeongnam region. ADRA Korea focused on aiding the injured firefighters, while WEMADE contributed 20 million won and ADRA Korea added 10 million won.
Donation Ceremony
A donation ceremony took place at WEMADE’s Pangyo headquarters on May 7, attended by representatives from WEMADE, ADRA Korea, the National Fire Agency, and the non-profit organization Fallen Fighters Survivor Hope Sharing. Ik Hyun Kim, Secretary-General of ADRA Korea, emphasized the importance of supporting firefighters. Min-Jin Lee, Head of Wepublic Center at WEMADE, highlighted that WEMADE aims to ensure transparent charitable activities through blockchain.
The efforts of WEMADE and ADRA Korea exemplify their commitment to assisting firefighters involved in critical wildfire suppression operations, which also reflects WEMADE’s broader approach to providing support in emergency situations.
