Samson Mow, a well-known Bitcoin proponent, spoke at the Bundestag and expressed gratitude to Joana Cotar for the invitation. He suggested that Germany consider acquiring 281,267 BTC as strategic reserves.

Bitcoin Sales by the German Government

Earlier this year, the German government seized 50,000 BTC during an operation against Movie2k, marking the largest recorded crypto seizure at that time. Sales began in June and continued over several months.

Arkham Intelligence data shows the last transaction involved transferring the coins to institutional deposit or OTC service providers.

Will Germany Return to Bitcoin Purchases?

There is speculation about potential new Bitcoin purchases by Germany. Expert Joana Cotar has advocated for using Bitcoin as a strategic reserve currency. Germany may soon join countries like El Salvador and Bhutan, which already hold significant reserves of this cryptocurrency.
