World, formerly known as Worldcoin, has launched a new blockchain, World Chain, aiming to enhance user interaction through identity verification.

Iris Identification: New Opportunities

On October 17, World announced that over 15 million users who verified their identity through iris scanning for a World ID can now access the new network.

Priority for Verified Users

The new blockchain will prioritize verified human users by granting them access to block space and an allowance of free gas, aimed at preventing bot usage and enhancing real user interactions.

Technological Innovations and Partnerships

The blockchain features top apps and projects like Optimism for interoperability, Uniswap for asset swaps, Zerion for APIs, and Alchemy for development. The company also introduced an upgraded 'Orb' biometric device powered by Nvidia hardware, which is smaller and more powerful than its predecessor.

The World Chain launch marks the next step in the project's development, focusing on more efficient blockchain usage and user engagement through identity verification and new partnerships.
