Elon Musk has confirmed the launch of beta testing for X Money, a payment and banking application set to roll out in 2025.
Confirmation of X Money Testing
On May 25th, Elon Musk emphasized that testing for the X Money application will begin with very limited access. As reported by the Tesla Owners Silicon Valley fan account, this test is designed to ensure maximum security for users. Musk added, 'When people’s savings are involved, extreme care must be taken.'
Plans for X Money Launch in 2025
Musk also expressed confidence in launching X Money this year. X is actively working to obtain the licenses necessary for the platform to operate in the United States, currently holding 41 licenses from the Nationwide Multi-State Licensing System at publication time.
Development of X Money and Musk's Vision
The idea of integrating payments into X began to take shape with Musk's acquisition of Twitter in 2022. Since then, the platform, formerly known as Twitter, has been rebranded to X and started implementing various features, including support for payments and banking services. In 2023, X CEO Linda Yaccarino stated that the application would offer 'unlimited interactivity' across multiple media formats.
X Money represents the next step in expanding the capabilities of X, aiming to create a multifunctional application for users.
