XRP Ledger, the blockchain responsible for XRP transactions and other digital assets, has recorded a significant increase in user activity.
Increase in Active Wallets
According to data from the analytical platform Santiment, the number of active XRP wallets has reached a record high. Over the past week, the average number of interacting addresses was over 295K, whereas this was previously at around 35-40K addresses per day.
Activity of Major Investors
The number of large XRP holders has also increased. 2,708 unique wallets now hold at least 1 million XRP tokens, marking the first time in 12 years.
Legal Issues of Ripple and SEC
The current situation with XRP is further complicated by the ongoing legal battle between Ripple and the SEC. Both parties submitted a status report to the Second Circuit Court requesting to postpone appeals until August 15th. Pro-crypto attorney Bill Morgan noted that this development is not surprising.
The growth in activity on the XRP Ledger may indicate rising interest in the cryptocurrency, despite ongoing legal challenges. The current price of XRP is $2.16.
