Bitget Wallet, a popular self-custodial digital wallet, has teamed up with Mastercard and Immersve to announce the launch of a zero-fee crypto card. This innovative card will allow users to spend cryptocurrency at merchants that accept Mastercard.

Crypto Card Overview

The card is being developed on Mastercard’s cutting-edge Digital First platform and is available for online applications exclusively through the Bitget Wallet app. Users will receive instant approval and can add a virtual card to their mobile wallets within minutes.

Benefits and Features

The card allows users to make payments directly from their cryptocurrency wallets, with funding happening in real-time through on-chain swaps or deposits using USDC. Users maintain custody until the transaction triggers conversion to fiat. Among the additional perks are no top-up fees, spending linked rewards, and interest on idle wallet balances.

Expansion and Expert Opinions

The initial rollout of the card will take place in the UK and EU, followed by expansion to Latin America, Australia, and New Zealand. Jamie Elkaleh, CMO of Bitget Wallet, highlighted the company's strategy. Scott Abrahams, Mastercard’s EVP of Global Partnerships, remarked that this is "a critical step in bringing digital assets closer to mainstream utility."

The launch of the zero-fee crypto card from Bitget Wallet and Mastercard marks a significant event in the crypto finance realm, allowing users to utilize their digital assets in everyday life.
