The legal team of Justin Sun, a prominent figure in the cryptocurrency industry, has once again succeeded in delaying their court case, where they face charges from the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). This marks the third postponement in this case.
The lawsuit filed by the SEC in March of the previous year accuses Sun, along with DeAndre Cortes Way (known as SouljaBoy) and Austin Mahone, of receiving payments for undisclosed advertising and manipulating the markets of TRON and BTT (BitTorrent) tokens. Cortes Way has already lost the case by default, and Mahone reached a settlement in August 2023. Sun postponed his response to the charges and declared his intention to fight against the SEC.
Sun's first delay in the court proceedings was due to the need to reorganize the TRON Foundation, await the outcome of the SEC's case against Ripple Labs, and the need for more time to reach a settlement with the SEC. In December last year, Sun again requested a postponement to align the filing deadlines for his organizations, including BitTorrent Foundation, TRON Foundation, and Rainberry, and to explore a possible resolution to the SEC's complaints.
As a result, the legal process in which Justin Sun is accused of fraud and market manipulation continues to be prolonged, with the outcome remaining uncertain.
