An unknown perpetrator posted a fake voting announcement on the Stargate app, which contained a malicious link. According to experts from PeckShield, more than a thousand people fell victim to the scam.

The information about this incident was provided by the moderator of the LayerZero project's Discord server LayerZero. He emphasized that the perpetrator purchased 50,000 STG to have the ability to create a voting proposal on the Snapshot platform. Afterward, he posted an announcement about the start of the first phase of distributing the gSTG token.

According to the source, the announcement included a phishing link that redirected users to a fraudulent website. Over a thousand users followed this link.

As a result of this incident, the perpetrator managed to seize assets worth over $43,000. At the time of writing this message, the wallet balance continues to increase and has already reached $63,000, according to DeBank data. The wallet address contains over 17,700 ARB, 4587 OP, 2.65 ETH, as well as several other assets.
