Despite mounting pressure from certain Democrats urging President Biden to step back due to age-related and cognitive concerns post a lackluster performance in a prior debate against former President Donald Trump, Biden remains steadfast in his commitment to run for re-election in 2024.
The debate triggered apprehension within the Democratic Party promptly, prompting donors and supporters to question Biden's suitability as the primary candidate to challenge Trump.
Despite these apprehensions, Biden stands firm in his resolution to pursue a second term, expressing confidence in defeating Trump once again.
In a televised interaction with George Stephanopoulos, Biden, who would be 86 should he secure a second term, stated, “If the Lord Almighty came down and said, ‘Joe, get out of the race,’ I’d get out of the race… But the Lord Almighty is not coming down.”
