Arkham Intelligence, known for its analysis of the cryptocurrency market, is preparing to open its own derivatives exchange. This initiative includes relocating its headquarters from London and New York to Punta Cana, Dominican Republic.
Relocation and New Platform Launch
Arkham's new platform is scheduled to launch next month, aiming for direct competition with Binance, the current market leader, by attracting retail investors and capturing a market share affected by recent regulatory changes.
Technological Development and New Investments
Over the past year, Arkham has focused on developing its exchange technology and introduced a data platform with about 880,000 active monthly users. This user base is expected to facilitate new customer acquisition. Arkham is also in talks with investors in the Middle East, aiming to raise up to $100 million to expand its business.
Regulatory Aspects and Competition with Binance
The exchange will not be available to U.S. investors due to the regulatory environment. Instead, Arkham will operate under a free trade zone license in the Dominican Republic, offering tax incentives and other benefits to support growth. As Binance's market share in derivatives has dipped to its lowest level in four years, new competitors like Arkham see an opportunity to enter the market.
With its strong technological foundation and strategic relocation, Arkham Intelligence plans to make a mark in the crypto derivatives market, potentially reshaping the competitive environment.
