Hyperliquid is set to release the new HYPE token, essential for the Hyper BFT consensus and the development of HyperEVM. The Hyper Foundation also announced that users could receive HYPE tokens and a Hypurr NFT as part of a planned airdrop.

The Hyper Foundation stated that Hyperliquid's order books provide the deepest and most robust liquidity for a broad range of assets. The launch of HyperEVM will make the platform's liquidity and other financial primitives more accessible and performant.

Hyperliquid already trades perpetual derivatives by pooling liquidity from various sources and offers several other native tokens on its Layer 1 blockchain. In April, Hyperliquid started spot trading of its first HIP-1, making the native PURR token available for use.
