Former U.S. First Lady Melania Trump has shared her plans to expand her Web3 venture to support foster children through blockchain technology.
Melania Trump's Web3 Plans
In a recent interview, Melania Trump revealed ambitions to expand her Web3 initiative to support the needs of children. She elaborated that if she were to return to the White House, she would expand her platform and hire more staff to enhance its capabilities. Melania has launched two platforms, MelaniaTrump.com and USAMemorabilia.com, where her art and collectibles are available. She stated: “So after I left the White House in 2021, I established my two platforms, Web2 and Web3, blockchain platforms that create art and collectibles, available on MelaniaTrump.com and USAMemorabilia.com. So, if we are back in the White House, I will expand that and add more staff.”
NFTs as a Means of Support
Melania's entry into the crypto world began with the launch of the 'Melania's Vision' NFT, which embodies her passion for arts and her commitment to children through the 'Be Best' initiative. The primary goal of the Web3 project is to offer financial aid to young adults transitioning from foster care. A portion of NFT sales revenue will be used for crucial training in computer science and software development to support their transition into adulthood. The former First Lady mentioned she had more ideas and reiterated that the Web3 platform would continue to offer financial assistance to children from the foster care community.
Growing Popularity of NFTs
NFTs are gaining popularity, with more people recognizing their potential. They allow unique ownership of digital art or collectibles, similar to owning rare trading cards or limited edition toys. By integrating NFTs into her foster care initiative, Melania is acknowledging the latest trends. Unlike traditional digital files, NFTs are unique, verified, and tracked on a blockchain, adding value through verifiable ownership. Despite their rise, NFT trading volume saw only 115,000 ETH last month, marking the lowest since January 2021.
Through leveraging new technologies like NFTs and blockchain, Melania Trump aims to provide significant support to foster care children, drawing attention to important social issues.
