HashKey Group, a prominent Chinese cryptocurrency and blockchain company, has announced its intention to release the mainnet of HashKey Chain, an Ethereum layer-2 solution, in the fourth quarter of 2024.
The disclosure was made through the project's official social media account on July 8, 2024, without specifying the exact launch date.
HashKey Chain was originally unveiled in April 2024 and is positioned as a vital element of HashKey's extensive Web3 ecosystem. The company aims to utilize its strengths in compliance, security, and technology to establish an open, scalable, and virtually borderless "Ecosystem Chain."
Using ZK-proof technology, HashKey Chain is designed to provide users with cost-effective and efficient on-chain services, such as trading, investment, and deployment of decentralized applications.
The network's native token, HSK, was recently introduced through an airdrop campaign on Telegram on July 2, 2024. This airdrop, distributing 10 million $HSK tokens, precedes the scheduled listing of HSK in the third quarter of 2024. Participants earned tokens by engaging with a Telegram bot game named "DejenDog" and fulfilling specific tasks.
HashKey Group has solidified its position as a significant participant in the crypto and blockchain landscape of Asia, particularly in Hong Kong. The company's cryptocurrency exchange was one of the pioneers to obtain full authorization to serve professional investors and retail users in compliance with Hong Kong's latest digital asset regulations.
Furthermore, HashKey Group has entered into strategic partnerships to expand its influence in the Asia–Pacific region. A notable collaboration was announced on April 30, 2024, involving Ripple, Japanese SBI Group, and the HashKey Group. This partnership is anticipated to introduce Ripple's XRP Ledger solutions to Japanese businesses, while HashKey contributes its blockchain-based supply chain solutions to advance adoption efforts in Japan.
In another alliance, HashKey Group partnered with the TON Foundation to improve fiat on- and off-ramps for Telegram crypto wallet users across the Asia Pacific region, enhancing accessibility and utilization of crypto and Web3 wallets.
