Binance has closed the access of Russians to the P2P service

The largest cryptocurrency exchange Binance continues to terminate cooperation with Russian users. The company has announced the complete closure of the P2P trading service for customers located in Russia.

In connection with the decision to exit the business through the sale of the cryptocurrency exchange CommEX, it is announced that starting from 3:00 AM (MSK) on January 31st, users who are citizens and residents of the Russian Federation will not be able to trade on Binance P2P.states the official statement.

For Russian citizens residing abroad and confirming their residence address, access to Binance P2P will remain unchanged.

Please note: Binance P2P will cease to support the Russian Ruble (RUB) at the same moment, 3:00 AM (MSK) on January 31st.clarified by Binance.

Russian users of the Binance exchange will be able to continue withdrawing Rubles through Binance fiat partners until January 31st, as well as using the "Conversion" tool to exchange Rubles for cryptocurrency.

In November, Binance clients were informed of the final cessation of the exchange's operations in Russia and the sale of the business to the partner trading platform CommEX. In late December, Binance began sending notifications to Russian users recommending them to close their accounts and withdraw their funds from the platform.

Crypto journalist, known by the pseudonym Wu Blockchain, recently reported that the share of traffic from Russia on the largest cryptocurrency exchanges in December 2023 reached 19%. Russians led in terms of the number of visits to the Bybit, MEXC, and HTX platforms. The share of visitors from Russia on Bybit was 19% of the total, on MEXC - 12%, on HTX - 11%.
