Mistral AI has introduced new features for its chatbot Le Chat, significantly improving its performance and bringing it in line with competitors like OpenAI and Google.
Le Chat Updates from Mistral AI
On Thursday, French AI laboratory Mistral released a series of new features for its chatbot Le Chat. This update followed the launch of Voxtral, Mistral's first open-source AI audio model that includes multilingual reasoning and transcription capabilities. Key improvements include the new deep research mode, native multilingual reasoning support, and enhanced image editing functionalities.
Deep Research Mode
Le Chat's new deep research mode transforms it into a highly efficient research assistant. This mode includes research planning, clarifying user needs, and sourcing information from various channels, allowing for synthesis of results into one coherent answer. "What the model does is really go into a big variety of sources on the web to answer a specific question," stated Elisa Salamanca, head of product at Mistral.
On-Premise Data Handling Enhancements
Mistral focuses on integrating Le Chat and its productivity tools into enterprise ecosystems, which is especially critical for companies with stringent data security requirements. "Many customers with very sensitive data do not actually use cloud services, or if they do, they do it on their own premises," explained Salamanca.
Mistral AI's updates to Le Chat reinforce its competitive edge in the AI market, offering powerful research tools, multilingual support, and a focus on data security for enterprises.
