In an interview, Tether CEO Paolo Ardoino shared the company's ambitious plans, claiming that Tether will become the largest Bitcoin miner by the end of the year.
Tether's Ambitious Plans
Ardoino announced that Tether aims to become the largest Bitcoin miner by the end of 2023. According to him, the company will continue to strengthen its position in the crypto assets space as well as in the expansion of global dollar dominance.
Profit Growth and Company Independence
The CEO stated that Tether expects to see greater profits this year compared to 2024. He mentioned that the company has already announced a profit of $13.7 billion in 2024, and predicts that this figure will be surpassed by the end of 2025. Furthermore, Ardoino emphasized that Tether has no plans to go public in the near future, as the company is satisfied with its current structure and intends to maintain its independence.
Tether's Role in the Global Financial Architecture
Ardoino noted that Tether's next wave of growth will come from the commodities trading sector. "Almost all major commodities traders are currently engaging with Tether, and this space presents a tremendous opportunity for the company," he added. Furthermore, he argued that Tether's stablecoin USDT, which is pegged to the US dollar, is actually silently expanding the global hegemony of the US dollar, becoming a critical tool in this balance of power.
Tether's ambitious steps may have repercussions not only in the cryptocurrency markets but also in the global financial architecture.
