Trump stated that any country siding with what he called the 'anti-American policies' of BRICS would face an additional 10% tariff on imports from the United States. 'Any country aligning themselves with the Anti-American policies of BRICS will be charged an ADDITIONAL 10% tariff. There will be no exceptions to this policy,' he wrote on his Truth Social account.

Trump also announced that letters detailing the tariff levels would begin to go out on Monday. These letters will inform each country about specific tariffs they will face. Other nations will be officially notified of their higher tariffs by July 9, and the new rates are scheduled to take effect on August 1.
