Polygon Labs, a blockchain company, and SK Telecom, a leading Korean mobile carrier, have joined forces to collaborate on the development of a web3 ecosystem. Alongside this initiative, they aim to identify and nurture promising startups through an incubation program, as outlined in their joint statement.
Marc Boiron, the CEO of Polygon Labs, expressed the significance of this partnership with SK Telecom in expanding the accessibility of web3 experiences to a wider consumer base.
The agreement between the two companies was formalized at SK Telecom's headquarters in Seoul.
As part of this collaboration, SK Telecom's NFT marketplace, TopPort, will extend its support to the Polygon blockchain. Additionally, the partnership endeavors to uncover and provide support for emerging web3 startups by offering them incubation opportunities.
Polygon operates a proof-of-stake sidechain network that operates in tandem with Ethereum. This network is home to prominent cryptocurrency applications like Uniswap and Aave. Notably, it has gained popularity as a favored blockchain platform for web3 gaming startups.
