The Starknet Foundation, which is working on the development of the L2 project StarkNet, intends to allocate over 1.8 billion STRK tokens for various blockchain implementation initiatives.
According to the statement, 900 million STRK tokens have been allocated to the audit committee to ensure "fair, decentralized, and transparent distribution of funds across multiple programs and stages." The team is already actively working on the first phase of token distribution and promises to release an official announcement in the near future.
The second half of the 900 million STRK tokens is allocated to provide network discounts to users. The planning process for this initiative is currently underway, and a special body is being created to implement it.
In addition, the Starknet Foundation has allocated 50 million STRK tokens to stimulate activity in DeFi protocols operating on the network. A professional committee oversees this program, which is completing research and planning to start implementing the initiative in the first quarter of 2024.
Recall that in October, the organization announced the distribution of 50 million STRK tokens among early project community members.
Developers had previously postponed the first stage of token unlocking until April 2024.
