According to analysts, about 13% of Canadians already hold cryptocurrencies. More than 30% indicated a desire to join the crypto world in the future. How things are with the acceptance of digital coins in other countries is described below.
The Ontario Commission conducted a survey among citizens and found that almost 40% of the population believe in the future of cryptocurrencies and their successful participation in the financial environment. In terms of the number of cryptocurrency holders, Canada is in the leading positions, sharing the 1st place with the USA. In the United States for 2022, about 13% of citizens own cryptocoins.
Last year, UNCTAD published a ranking that included the following countries:
- US - 10%;
- Ukraine - 12%;
- Russia - 11,95%;
- Venezuela and UK - 10,3%.
Analysts note that not all countries have a pronounced interest in cryptocurrencies. However, experts highlight Africa, which is in the top 20, according to the UNCTAD ranking. The most active participants were from Kenya (8.5%) and Nigeria (6.3%). In Morocco, despite the ban on digital coins, the share of holders increased by 1% over the year, and for 2022 it is 3%.
It is worth noting that interest in cryptocurrencies is distributed very unevenly across different countries of the world. At the same time, it is growing in states where the proportion of citizens who own digital currencies may grow in the very near future.
