The creators of Polygon have prepared for the launch of the zkEVM testnet. According to the project team, this product will be a global step in the future of the system. The developers noted that the main part of the network will be available by the beginning of next year. It is noted that the world's first full-featured open source verification system is involved in the new solution.
The implementation of zkEVM will help to optimize scaling for Ethereum. The launch of this network has been planned since the beginning of the summer, and finally the project is ready to start.
Polygon technology will deploy an Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) for zk-rollup. Developers will no longer need to use new programming languages, as it will be possible to use their smart contracts from Ethereum without any problems.
ZK-Rollup — a second layer solution on the Ethereum network, based on zero knowledge proof. It allows you to speed up transactions, process transfers in batches and use a specific proof system. The project community responded positively to the changes. In addition, Matter Labs and Scroll projects are implementing a similar system in the near future. This suggests that zkEVM technology is gaining popularity.
Polygon co-founder Mihailo Bjelic noted that the DeFi platforms Aave and Uniswap, as well as the social platform Lens, will become the first testers.
