The developers noted that the main part of the network will be available by the beginning of next year. Polygon technology will deploy an Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) for zk-rollup. Developers will no longer need to use new programming languages, as it will be possible to use their smart contracts from Ethereum without any problems.
ZK-Rollup — a second layer solution on the Ethereum network, based on zero knowledge proof. It allows you to speed up transactions, process transfers in batches and use a specific proof system. The project community responded positively to the changes. In addition, Matter Labs and Scroll projects are implementing a similar system in the near future. This suggests that zkEVM technology is gaining popularity.
Polygon co-founder Mihailo Bjelic noted that the DeFi platforms Aave and Uniswap, as well as the social platform Lens, will become the first testers.
