Roblox Metaverse losses continue to rise

Representatives of the online gaming platform Roblox noted a significant increase in loss in the third quarter. A year ago, in the same period, the loss amounted to $74 million, and the number has increased several times - $297.8 million.

Also, sales on the platform also fell. In total, they managed to earn about 515 million dollars, instead of the expected 690 million dollars. 

However, it is worth noting that the number of active users in the game has increased. A year ago it was 52.2 million, and now it is 58.8 million. Over 2,000,000 participants from Russia.

The team said that compared to 2021, staff costs have increased by 55%. This figure is associated with the expansion of the staff. Despite these losses, Roblox intends to continue providing jobs to new individuals.

The head of the company noted that there are active investments in employees now, increasing technical capacities and data centers of international scale. This will attract a global audience and increase the value of the platform.

Earlier it became known about the beginning of cooperation between Roblox and the Russian company MegaFon to work in the metaverse.
