Sony, the largest manufacturer of consumer and professional electronics, has become interested in creating digital assets.

The patent was published in November of this year. It says that the brand is probably creating its own blockchain and NFT items, then to implement them in games. It is worth noting that the patent was filed a year ago.

According to the details of the document, Sony is interested in NFTs in the form of images or videos of in-game items, characters, items and accessories. The team also notes the importance of the blockchain. After all, it allows you to track all transactions with items, as well as learn about past owners of NFTs.

Sony is testing digital items by launching the PlayStation Stars loyalty program. The bottom line is that participants receive rewards in the form of 3D models for completing missions in the game. These items are not NFTs, but have a number of similar characteristics.

In April of this year, Sony, LEGO and KIRKBI became investors in Epic Games and invested about $2 billion to develop Metaverse. The details of the development of the metaverse are not known yet, however, the head of Epic Games noted the benefits of virtual space for players and its enhanced capabilities.
