US investor Dave Stanton developed a new concept of blockchain games and called it “play to die” (Play-to-Die).

According to the terms of the new mechanics, the participant must buy a unique NFT and go into a game battle with another gamer. In case of defeat, the token will burn out and its owner will not be able to return the invested funds. Stanton noted that in this way it is possible to increase excitement, make the gaming experience more memorable and increase the spirit of competition.

However, the name of the new mechanism is controversial, because Stanton focuses on death, which can not quite correctly affect the course of the game. It is likely that this title will be changed in the future.
