About the Chromia project

Chrоmia — a public and open source blockchain, developed by the Swedish company Chromaway AB. The Chroma (CHR) token was launched in May 2019. The technology behind the Chromia blockchain is adapted from an earlier technology, called Postchain, a solution, provided by Chromaway AB, for enterprise clients.

Blockchain uses a unique architecture, called a relational blockchain, as well as its own programming language, called Rell. Rell is designed to code and operate very similarly to SQL, allowing developers to use the security and immutability of the blockchain to store and process data with the efficiency of a relational database.

Chromia's core team consists of industry veterans with deep roots in the crypto space:

  • Ora Perelman;
  • Henrik Hjelte;
  • Alex Mizrahi;

The project already has many applications, based on their blockchain, using their chain as a decentralized storage layer and using their layer 2 enhancements. These applications range from the DeFi options trading platform Hedgeget to the open-world farming game My Neighbor Alice to the state land registry initiative LAC PropertyChain.
