Description of the Crypto Volatility Index (CVI)
By calculating a decentralized volatility index (CVI), the new system analyzes market expectations for future volatility. The COTI method addresses the complex liquidity environment of this evolving asset class and provides the data, needed to estimate implied volatility.
The COTI CVI index runs on the Black-Scholes option pricing model, which allows the seller to create a hedging portfolio. Determining the implied volatility of an asset is an estimate of the risk of an asset, presented by traders, risking their skin in the game. All indices of the VIX family are calculated as a numerical integration of the parameters of the traded options contracts.
Some features of the token:
| 1 | The GOVI token is a governance token for CVI. |
| 2 | CVI uses an open source protocol that does not require permissions, so anyone can participate in the development of the network. |
| 3 | CVI includes a decentralized governance component where GOVI token holders can vote on issues such as traded assets, used leverage, deposit amounts, platform fees, and more. |
By placing their GOVI tokens, GOVI holders will also share the commission from the CVI platform. At the moment, GOVI is available on Uniswap. Traders can receive GOVI tokens by purchasing positions on the CVI platform. To earn GOVI tokens as a liquidity provider, you need to stake the LP tokens you receive to provide liquidity in the “Manage your tokens” tab.
