Description of AtomicAssets

The decentralized applications fully pay the cost of the game RAM tokens on the AtomicAssets platform. Even with the transfer of assets, this remains the same.

The maximum the end user will ever have to pay - 112 bytes for their own scope.AtomicAssets

This also means that AtomicAssets works completely without any pretensions. Transfers are instantaneous and users don’t need any additional action. Company advantages:

Support for assets with tokens The standard fungible tokens (e.g. EOS / WAX) can back the assets. These tokens can only be freed up by burning the asset, which allows decentralized applications to impart guaranteed intrinsic value to their asset.
Powerful trading offers AtomicAssets has a built-in implementation of two-way trade offers (similar to Steam or WAX Express Trade). This allows you to create and accept offers in one step. The offerings also allow for peer-to-peer marketplaces that do not require the transfer of ownership of the market contract.
Serializing data AtomicAssets uses custom serialization, which dramatically reduces RAM, overhead compared to traditional methods (like JSON strings). The contract does the serialization to ensure that no corrupted data ends up in the blockchain.
Templates Resources can have templates in which the data itself can be stored. This allows similar assets to be grouped together and means you can save RAM by not storing the same data for each asset separately.

It costs only 151 bytes to create an asset (112 of which are for the required index). In addition, each token holder must have a scope that costs 112 bytes. Smart contracts can be automatically notified of any relevant events, related to their assets. This allows them to make assets an integral part of their game, rather than just a static token.

Road map

The company has placed the Road Map on the platform, where any user can see the next updates. What's in store for the project:

  • February 9, 2020 - AtomicAssets launch. Official announcement and launch of the Contracts and NPM module;
  • May 23, 2020 - an open source explorer API that will offer richer, high-performance queries;
  • June 30, 2020 - AtomicAssets 1.0.

The developers are planning to add auctions to the marketplace now and allow users to sell or auction multiple NFTs in one listing. In addition to the NFT creator, the package creator will allow users to create packages that will mint NFTs to the user randomly. The company plans to develop several games that will take full advantage of the unique advantages, offered by AtomicAssets.

How does it work?

AtomicAssets has collections, diagrams, templates and assets that serve different purposes and often reference each other. To understand the AtomicAssets standard properly, it is important to understand how do they work:

Collections Collections group assets, schemas and templates manage their permissions. They also have a data field that follows a single schema, specifically designed to collect information. To create schemas and then templates and assets, you need to create a collection and add one or more accounts to the authorized_accounts list. Apps, especially exchanges, are likely to offer features to filter assets, based on their collection as well.
Schemas Schemas help to define the data structure. They have nothing but a unique name that is used to refer to them and a FORMAT vector, each of which is a tuple of a unique name and type, describing the attribute that the data structure has. The schemas belong to the collection, and the author of the collection can extend the schema later by adding more FORMATs, but existing FORMATs cannot be removed.
Templates The main purpose of templates - to reduce memory costs by storing data that is duplicated in many similar resources only once. However, it is also possible to define max_supply in the template, in which case it can be used to group deficient assets.
Assets Assets - the core of the AtomicAssets standard. They refer to the schema that is used to serialize the asset data, as well as the collection to which they belong. They can also reference a template optionally, in which case the serialized template data will be treated as if it were also part of the asset data.

The biggest advantage of AA - the efficiency of RAM. The company's resources are designed to use as little RAM as possible (without sacrificing usability).
