About the Pomelo project
Pomelo is trying to help developers to understand the value they create and expanding the Web3 developer community. Pomelo has two components: a crowdfunding round and a large corresponding pool of funds. During crowdfunding, grant holders, like you, seek community donations. The number of contributions and the total amount, contributed to your project, will affect the total amount, allocated from the respective pool. This highlights the importance of your community building skills.
Other crypto new features:
| 1 | The mission of the project - to empower communities to create and fund an open network. |
| 2 | Developers do this by giving builders and creators the opportunity to earn through quarterly grant rounds. |
| 3 | The quadratic funding mechanism ensures exceptional community participation in decisions about the allocation of public funds. |
Inspired by Gitcoin, Pomelo Grants uses QF as a funding mechanism for digital public goods. But QF has vulnerabilities. It can be played with Sybil and Collusion attacks, so identity verification is vital for grant sponsors and project owners.
Pomelo supports open web development, but beyond that, the team sees Pomelo as a vital quadratic funding experiment. Testing QF is important because developers believe it is the optimal way to fund public goods in a democracy and could be the main approach to allocating public resources. Each round offers the community more opportunities to explore and test the system together, while the stakes get higher as the rounds get more successful.
