Ark Protocol — a multi-chain identity-binding protocol, designed to run Decent.land, ANS, and any other applications that rely on users to verify their identity on other chains. Use cases include token gate and social data aggregation.
About Ark Protocol
With Ark Protocol, users can use their Arweave wallet as their primary identity to verify activity on other chains. Ark was built by the Decent.land team and is one of the project's main social protocols, along with ANS and Public Square. Decent.land is a set of social and identity primitives, built on Arweave to support the creation of social networks and groups with tokens. Basic contracts in Arweave but interact with other chains. This creates a chain-agnostic way to preserve your identity and control access to DAO discussions and governance.
To participate, you need the ArConnect extension to get an Arweave wallet and sign Arweave transactions. You will need an Ethereum wallet extension, compatible with Metamask, Coinbase Wallet or Wallet Connect and a wallet on the Ethereum mainnet with enough ETH for gas. Connect the wallet in the user interface, confirm the transactions and the data will be uploaded to Arweave.
How can the protocol be used?
If your dapp deals with user identity verification on chains, or is an Arweave dapp, built to work with other L1s, the Ark protocol can be a useful integration primitive.
