What is ENS Manager?

ENS Manager — a product, developed by Portal Network. The platform aims to facilitate the use of blockchain by contributing to various projects and products. One of the main institutions of the Portal Network - the Blockchain Name Service (BNS), which empowers users. The ENS (Ethereum Name Service) manager was recently launched to allow users to connect their wallet address to the resolver easily.

Brief description of the dapp application

ENS - a service that turns a complex hash into a human-readable name. This can be thought of as something akin to DNS (Domain Name Service), which changes IP addresses to "google.com", "facebook.com". However, in Blockchain, ENS can be used for several purposes. For example:

  • set as wallet address;
  • replace the IPFS hash address;
  • interact with multiple smart contracts.

To perform the functions, mentioned above, users need to configure an ENS resolver that can map between addresses and ENS. Before configuring the resolver, you must own ENS. Next, you should go to ENS Manager via the Portal Network. Unblock and connect to Metamask wallet. Enter your ENS in the search bar and configure the default resolver. Only the owner of the ENS can configure the resolver. If you are unable to install the recognizer, double check if your Metamask ENS account belongs to.

After successful configuration, you can configure the following features:

Link to your wallet address Enter your wallet address and you can receive it by using ENS.
Creating subdomains You can set up subdomains and transfer ownership to any address.
Connect to your websites It is possible to configure the IPFS hash, generated from your websites to your ENS. This means that anyone can access your dWeb simply by entering their ENS.

Remember that all of these features require a small transaction fee (gas), as any interaction with a smart contract in Ethereum requires sending a transaction. Please note that the project does not have a referral system and other bonuses. Also, the developers do not provide information about the presence of an audit of a smart contract.

Why should you use the ENS Manager?

The main goal of ENS - to provide more efficient solutions in Ethereum. Even if the blockchain has basic functionality, it has several flaws that limit its functionality. In the basic functionality that Ethereum provides, users and developers cannot register a subdomain such as "blog.protalnetwork.com". With ENS, developers can host multiple services on the same domain. The Portal Network is making efforts to address the user adoption problem facing blockchain. Unfortunately, many users do not have access to this innovative technology due to the lack of tools and materials that can educate and raise crowd awareness.

The ENS Manager developers hope that with the help of the tools and materials, developed by the Portal Network, it will be possible to narrow the gap between users and technologies, simplify the process of using the blockchain and ensure the mass adoption of blockchain and cryptocurrency.ENS Manager
