About the Hypersign project
Hypersign — a decentralized identity and access management infrastructure for the enterprise. It uses technologies such as public key infrastructure (PKI) and blockchain to provide password-less authentication, and authorization and verification services that integrate in minutes and are compatible with legacy IAM systems at an affordable cost.
Hypersign is working on an issue-check paradigm concept that has three stakeholders:
| Users | Access the services and store their personal data (end users). |
| Issuer | Someone who validates user data and issues credentials, based on user data (identity provider). |
| Verifier | The one who validates the credentials. That is, the service provider. |
The Hypersign protocol distributes responsibility for release, storage and verification among stakeholders. The verified credentials contain the user's data along with the digital signature of the issuer. At this point, the issuer does not need to store user data and can act as a stateless server. If desired, the Issuer can store the data in encrypted form for recovery or access in the future.
The user can provide these credentials to a peer-to-peer service provider without notifying the identity provider or issuer when they want to use the service. This gives the end user a sense of privacy that is not tracked. Before sharing verifiable credentials, the end user also attaches their digital signature to the document.
