It is the first of its kind Ethereum Proof of Stake (PoS) infrastructure service, designed for high decentralization, distribution and bet interoperability in Ethereum 2.0. It was first conceived in late 2016 and has several successful public beta releases throughout the life of ETH2 development.

Rocket Pool project description
The betting network allows any individual, business, defi dapp, wallet provider, SaaS provider, exchange - virtually any service - to provide their users with the ability to receive rewards for betting on their ETH holdings without having to worry about maintaining an extensive betting infrastructure.
Rocket Pool removes several high barriers to entry that will exist with proof of stake in the Ethereum 2.0 network for individuals, groups and businesses.
Some advantages:
| 1. | The lighthouse chain requires a deposit of at least 32 ETH. Rocket Pool will allow anyone to receive rewards on deposits of only 0.01 ETH. |
| 2. | Adding ETH to the beacon chain will also require the user to know how to interact with smart contracts. RocketPool handles all interactions with the beacon chain for you. |
| 3. | RocketPool socializes any penalties or losses, incurred on nodes across the entire network, greatly minimizing the impact for any individual user. |
RPL is the main protocol token and can be put on a RocketPool node if you want to provide the network with an additional safety promise. When a user makes a deposit to the Rocket Pool network, they instantly receive a rETH token, which is a tokenized deposit for bets and rewards.
