13 years have passed since the last publication of Satoshi Nakamoto

Dec 12, 2023

In December 2010, the founder of the first cryptocurrency, known under the pseudonym Satoshi Nakamoto, posted his last post on the BitcoinTalk forum before disappearing from public attention. In a message published on December 12, 2010, he presented an update and code for managing Denial-of-Service (DoS) protocol version 0.3.19, without giving any signs of his impending departure.

At that time, bitcoin, digital gold, was trading for only 20 cents, and the network was facing problems related to resistance to DoS attacks, which caused concern to Satoshi and other community members. He also expressed his dissatisfaction with the fact that the Wikileaks platform used bitcoin for donations.

In the following years, Satoshi faced disagreements within the developer community, which led to forum disputes. His approach to project management and decision-making has been criticized.

Obviously, Satoshi had been planning to leave the team for a long time in order to focus on developing his idea of a digital currency and avoid the role of a mysterious figure. Before his final disappearance, he handed over control of the protocol to the community under the leadership of Gavin Anderson.

However, his contribution to decentralization and the fight against financial dictatorship remains indescribable, and many see his disappearance as an act of self-preservation and a reminder that his aspirations for economic freedom and sovereignty exceed personal ambitions.
