Binance enhances security through the introduction of new anti-corruption measures.

Feb 6, 2024

Binance has announced its intention to reward users of the crypto platform for providing information that can help identify cases of corruption among employees. According to Binance co-founder Yi He, the exchange will make changes to the listing procedures for cryptocurrency tokens and create a reward fund for those who provide reliable information about corrupt employees.

On her page on the social network, He stressed that the management of Binance is seriously worried about rumors in the crypto community about possible corruption within the company. In particular, this is due to the discussions that arose after the sharp drop in the price of the Ronin (RON) token immediately after its listing on Binance. A week before the official announcement of the listing, the price of the Ronin project token increased by more than 30%, but soon after this event it fell by more than 26%.

Some members of the crypto community suggest that this price spike and subsequent drop may be related to the leak of confidential information from inside Binance. They refer to a statement by the director of Coinbase, Conor Grogan, who noted that two weeks before the listing of the Ronin token, there was an active purchase of tokens using several crypto wallets. Grogan suggested a possible connection between these wallets and members of the Binance team responsible for listing cryptocurrencies.
