Representatives of BlackRock (BLK) have announced the receipt of $100,000 as "initial capital" before the upcoming launch of the planned bitcoin exchange-traded fund (BTC) on the stock market. This information was provided by the management of the investment giant in a new filing filed with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) on the evening of December 4, 2023.

"The investor of the initial capital agreed to purchase shares in the amount of $ 100 thousand. back on October 27, 2023. He received a supply of 4 thousand shares at a price of $25 per 1 piece as part of our initial shares program," the official document says.

This capital represents the initial investment that will allow the ETF to finance the underlying assets of the fund. This is necessary so that shares can be offered and sold on the open market in the future.

The proposed iShares Bitcoin Trust fund from BlackRock will invest in spot bitcoins, not futures. This new fund, presented by a major global company, is one of 13 awaiting approval from United States financial regulators. Analysts are of the opinion that the SEC will allow the launch of one or more ETFs early next year, with a 90% probability of this event, according to Bloomberg researchers.
