MonoSwap warns of hacking: be careful of phishing links.

Jul 27, 2024

The team at decentralized cryptocurrency steaking and exchange platform MonoSwap warned users about the hack and urged them to urgently withdraw their deposits. An initial investigation revealed that the theft of users' crypto assets occurred due to unauthorized access to critical data obtained through a phishing application and malware installed on the computer of one of MonoSwap's developers.
The MonoSwap administration urged users to refrain from any financial transactions on the platform until an official notification is issued. Special attention was paid to phishing links found in social network X, which allow attackers to gain access to the platform's contracts and users' crypto wallets.
It also became known about a new sophisticated method of crypto fraud that uses elements of social engineering. Fraudsters are distributing malicious links that supposedly redirect users to the Zoom video conferencing platform. This method has already resulted in the theft of about $300,000 worth of crypto assets.
To protect their assets, users are advised not to click on suspicious links and to carefully check the sources of information. It is also important to follow official notifications from the MonoSwap team and apply all available security measures to protect their cryptocurrency assets.
