Pixels topped the charts in early 2024, surprisingly attracting 123,100 unique active wallets (UAW) in the last 24 hours. This massively multiplayer online (MMO) game offers an informal adventure, allowing players to farm, explore the world, own land and use non-fungible tokens (NFTs).

Despite the impressive UAW numbers, the in-game BERRY token in the Pixels game is valued at just $0.0002, resulting in a total in-game trade value of just $6.51. The UAW valuation used by DappRadar raises questions as it does not account for all active players, only those who interact with DApp smart contracts.

Sweat Economics came second in the UAW ranking with a simple app that rewards users for walking. During the same period, the app registered 102,600 UAW and generated $34,700 in-game commerce volume.

Card games, including Splinterlands, saw a 40.24% decrease in UAW, with only 41,800 users engaging in transactions. While Axie Infinity saw a 21.59% increase in users, reaching 15,900 UAW over the same period.

Ava Labs' head of gaming, Ed Chang, is preparing for an intense 2024 with the release of new games. He emphasises the user engagement and regulatory challenges of Web3 gaming, but expresses excitement about five new 2024 releases, including shooter Shrapnel, racing game NFT Trial Xtreme and sci-fi game Providence. Chang also recommends the adventure game Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom for fans of new experiences.
